Summer 2008 Commencement
August 9, 2008
9:00 A.M.
United Spirit Arena

The Colleges of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources, Architecture, Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Graduate School Honors College, and Mass Communications and Visual & Performing Arts will be participating in this ceremony, where each degree recipient will be recognized individually.

Student Instructions:
Students are asked to park in the commuter parking lot, and enter the United Spirit Arena at the drive-in bay located on the north side one hour prior to the start of Commencement. As you enter the bay, go to the Rawls College of Business table where all degree recipients will receive instructions concerning the ceremony and the processional. Your advisor will give you your personalized photographer's card, which will be used by the photographer and also will serve as the name card that you will present to the reader as you go across the stage during the ceremony. After you have obtained the card, proceed to your assigned seat and then fill out the back of the card. Please bring along a pen to use for this task. Your family and guests should be reminded to enter the Arena through the main entrance.

IMPORTANT: As you cross the stage during the ceremony, you will be handed a Texas Tech diploma cover. In order to ensure we have a diploma cover for you, it is imperative that you RSVP (by phone 742-3171 or email at ba_undergrad@ttu.edu) to the Undergraduate Services Center if you WILL or WILL NOT be attending the Commencement Ceremony. You will be sent a letter prior to Commencement instructing you when to RSVP.

Please be sure to check your permanent address on TechSis as this is the address your diploma will be mailed to in the event you do not attend the Ceremony.

The proper attire for the ceremony is cap and gown, and black shoes (no corsages or decorations, please). Gentlemen: you should wear black slacks, dress shirt and tie. Ladies: you should leave your purse with a family member since there is not a secured place for it while you are participating in the ceremony. Cell phones should also be left with a family member.
